Jubilation as Nigerian Boxer at Rio Olympics Knocks Out Opponent in Round One (Photos)

A Young Nigerian boxer by name Efe, at the Rio 2016 Olympics seems very lucky as he knocks out his opponent in a split of seconds during the fight.

Efe Ajagba (right)

It took Nigeria's Efe Ajagba just 23 seconds to knockout his Trinidad & Tobago opponent, Nigel Paul in Boxing Super Heavyweight 91kg category of Rio 2016 Olympics.

Referee instructs Efe Ajagba to a corner after he knocked down his opponent.

Nigeria's sole representative in boxing at the Olympic Games outclassed his opponent in round one, to show why he is highly rated and being tipped as a prospect for medal in the event.

Ajagba who won the 2015 African Games showed a high level of confidence, aiming all his punches accurately which eventually paid-off, and in less than a minute he sent Paul crashing.

Of all the fights before this, nobody won by a knockout except the Nigerian, which stands him in a good position. The 22-year-old who won Bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow complemented his prowess with his height to knockout his opponent.

Having now qualified for the quarter-finals, Ajagba is billed to face a very stern test against Ivan Dychko from Kazakhstan on Tuesday, August 16.

Face of a Prophet who Threatened to Kill Man After Having S*x with the Church Member's Wife (Photos)

A prophet who goes by name Benjamin has allegedly threatened to kill one of his church member after his adulterous affair with the man's wife were leaked and made open to the public.

Prophet Mashange

Benjamin “Stailodge” Mashange, a Harare prophet with the Johanne Masowe eChishanu Church, has allegedly threatened to kill a congregant after his adulterous affair with the man’s wife came to light.

According to H-Metro News, Zimbabwe, the cleric whose current location is unknown since he was evacuated from his previous residence at number 11 Parklane Court in the city is said to have had an affair with a married woman, Febbie Muromba, 27.

Febbie’s husband, Lewis Tsvere, 38, said Benjamin admitted the affair and signed an agreement in which he promised to pay back the lobola (Dowry) Lewis paid for his wife of 11 years.

Lewis Tsvere

However, Lewis highlighted that he is scared for his life as Benjamin has threatened him with death if he continues to ask for his money.

“This man is a well respected prophet in our church but he lured my wife into bed a number of times since 2014 until I caught them this year. He even slept with my wife in my matrimonial bed. When I discovered the affair, my wife confessed that she had been sleeping with Benjamin.

“Benjamin also admitted that he was sleeping with my wife. As a result he promised he would pay back my money I paid as lobola. He said he was going to pay me US$3 000 in installments starting March of this year but up to date he has only paid US$200.

“When I asked him why he was not paying the money like he promised he threatened to kill me or to make me poor. Akati ane simba rekundinamatira kuti ndife kana kuti ndiite murombo. Anototyisa nekuti muporofita.

Febbie Muromba

“I was really disappointed because this man used to pray for us as a family. I did not know that he was eyeing my wife all along. He was our family prophet. I did not realise that relying on him for our spiritual lives was a gate pass for him to have sex with my wife.

“He is a menace to the church and to the society as a whole. My wife told me that when she first slept with Benjamin it was at his house where he had called her for prayers. She said she eventually got used to sleeping with him.

“Ndohunhu hwake he does that to women who have rich husbands. He asked my wife to sell one of our houses and runaway with him. He is a greedy person he loves money too much. Both Benjamin and Febbie confessed their affair before other congregants. Right now Benjamin is saying hapana zvatomuita and he is not going to stop prophesying and anyone who writes the story will die."

Lewis said Benjamin has to pay back the lobola he paid like he promised. He also said he was hurt because Benjamin whom he believed to be a true prophet proved that he was a fake prophet who was only after money.

Can you believe this? Catholic Priest in Kaduna Discovered Secretly Married to 2 Wives (See Photos)

This news which came as a shock has it that a Catholic Church parish priest, has been exposed engaging in a secret marriage to two women, an act that led to his being pulled out from the priesthood.

Parishioners at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, Kakuri parish, Kaduna State, are still in shock following revelation that the parish priest, Very Reverend Father Peter Zuni, 54, was engaged in a secret marriage to two women, an act that led to his being disrobed and sacked from the priesthood.

Sunday Sun gathered that one of the wives is already late, while the surviving one who blew the whistle about three weeks ago over the secret marriage is said to be nursing a child for the embattled priest.

According to the doctrine of the Catholic Church, only unmarried men are ordained into the priesthood as they are obligated to swear to an oath of celibacy and observe perfect and perpetual service for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. This, it is believed, would enable the priests to easily remain close to Christ with an undivided heart, and dedicate themselves more freely to the service of God and the congregation.

When Sunday Sun visited the premises of the Queen of the Apostles parish, some parishioners confirmed the report, which they said was initially thought to be mere rumour.

The parishioners who spoke on condition of anonymity said they were shocked and surprised to learn of a petition to the Bishop of Kaduna Archdiocese, Bishop Ndagoso Manoso, that two women had children for their parish priest, an act considered to be an abomination and grave sin against the Catholic doctrine.

They pointed out that in order to cover up the priest’s ‘sin’ from spreading to the larger public, the Archdiocese allegedly organised a send off for the embattled priest to a remote village in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

“During the send off, the priest was not allowed to make a farewell speech, and many people refused to take photographs with him. There was little or no felicitation with him because most of the time he was seen standing aloof under a mango tree without anybody going close to him.

“Nobody can say when the priest committed the alleged sinful act. If it happened before his ordination, he wouldn’t have been ordained, so probably it was after his ordination, and you know, God does not sleep, no matter the length of cover up, one day the bubble will burst. And the bubble has burst now,” the parishioner said.

However, when Sunday Sun contacted the disrobed priest on his telephone line, and sought comments on his alleged controversial transfer from the city to a remote village, he said: “Nobody is ordained to remain and work in the city. I have spent five years as parish priest of Queen of Apostles, so I can work anywhere, city or village.”

On the allegation of his involvement in secret marriage to two women who bore children for him even as a Catholic priest, he neither denied nor confirmed the allegation. Rather he said: “I find it difficult myself to believe what people are saying about me. I will not comment on it now. I will follow due process to invite you for an interview, but I am afraid, the newspaper of the archdiocese, The Cross News, may carry this story before you.”

Rev Fr. Zuni further said he is currently based in Suleja, Niger State. But Sunday Sun gathered that parishioners were made to believe that the embattled priest was transferred to Gumel village in southern Kaduna, while he was actually sacked from the priesthood.

Unfortunately, parishioners lamented that the controversial priest’s first name, Peter, reminded them of the biblical Peter who denied Jesus three times before the cock crowed.

Archbishop in tears

When contacted, the Archbishop of Kaduna Catholic Diocese, Bishop Ndagoso Manoso also confirmed the report to Sunday Sun in his office along Tafawa Balewa Way, Kaduna.

Bishop Manoso who was almost in tears when he spoke on the matter, said Father Zuni actually committed the sin.  He said that what the priest did, brought a sad moment and embarrassment to the entire archdiocese.

The embattled priest was his classmate in the seminary more than 30 years ago.  Bishop Manoso said that he could imagine the spiritual and psychological torture the priest could be going through over this sinful act.

The Archbishop also expressed worry over the health condition of the disrobed priest who is known to be diabetic and dependent on daily injection of insulin.

On how the bubble burst over the secret matrimonial relationship, Bishop Manoso said the woman at the centre of the storm confronted him with a baby said to belong to Father Zuni, and after due investigation by his office, it was confirmed that the priest was her secret husband.

Bishop Manoso said, “It is very unfortunate that this thing had to happen in my diocese. It is not an easy thing for me; if I tell you what I have been going through in the past few weeks over this issue; it has not been easy for me. Father Zuni was my classmate; we spent seven years in the seminary. At a time he proceeded to Kaduna Polytechnic and read Accounting.

“But this thing happened and nobody knew. But he has to face the sanction. We sacked and disrobed him because what he did is no longer compatible with his vocation as a priest. It was not true that he was transferred to any village.  He was about to be transferred on normal routine, but when I heard of this story, I had to cancel the transfer and sacked him.

“It is true that he had affairs with two women and they both had children for him, but one of the women is late already. We are not God, we did not know on time until now that he was having affairs with two women.”

He spoke further: “The church said the priest has to go because the church doesn’t allow priests to marry. So he had to go and look after his children and his matrimonial home.

“You can now imagine what the priest is going through, either spiritually or psychologically. He must be going through hell on earth. This is my concern for him now. The woman and the kids will be going through trauma also.

“I have been trying to see how I can help him, but I don’t think I have the skills to help him. But he needs help to come to terms with reality.

“By December he will be 30 years in the priesthood, and he is now 54 years old, so at this age what can he do with his life. Nobody can employ him now. He spent seven years in the seminary and 30 years in the priesthood, and that is 37 years, so what can he do with his life at 54? The church too is going through a lot of trauma, so we need everybody’s prayers for us to put this incident behind us.”

Match-making Brothers and Sisters is Unscriptural - Pastor Adeboye Warns RCCG Pastors

RCCG pastors have been banned in the church from match-making members by Pastor Adeboye who is General overseer of the church.

E.A Adeboye

Speaking at yesterday’s service which marked the end of the 64th Annual Convention, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A Adeboye has banned Pastors in the church from match-making members, saying there should be no more cases of arranging brothers and sisters for marriage.

“Don’t be entangled with marriage among members because you will bear the consequences. It is not your duty to arrange a brother and a sister for marriage because you cannot arrange their fruitfulness. Don’t get involved in marriage by proxy,” he said.

The influential cleric urged pastors to teach their spiritual children to seek the face of the Lord in marriage because every marriage has its challenges.

Meanwhile, seven new Assistant General Overseers (AGOs) were announced to take over from the six Assistant General Overseers who retired.

They are: Pastors Ezekiel A. Odeyemi, Elijah O. Daramola, Johnson F. Odesola and Joseph Obayemi who are presently members of the Governing Council of the RCCG and Special Assistants to the G.O.

Others are Pastor Olu Obanure, Pastor Ayo Adeloye and Pastor Peter Amekhienan who are presently Special Assistants to the General Overseer in West Coast 1, East Africa and Southern Africa Region 1 respectively.

New Special Assistants to the GO are: Pastors Johnson Tomisin Kalejaiye, Brown Oyitso, Okey Mofunnaya, Peter Olawale and Belemina Obunge were appointed Special Assistants to the General Overseer.

Kalejaiye, a Regional Evangelist is now the Special Assistant to the G.O. on Evangelism. Oyitso, Chairman of Central Missions Board, is now the Special Assistant to the G.O. on Missions while Mofunnaya, Head of Security, is now the Special Assistant to the G.O. on Security.

How Bode George Blasted Jimi Agbaje Over PDP Chair Contest Will Shock You

Chief Bode George and former governorship candidate, Jimi Agbaje, are all over the air as they fight hard for the national chairmanship contest of the party currently in progress.

Jimi Agbaje and Bode George

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Punch Newspaper on Friday, former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, says he is very disappointed with the insistence of the Lagos State guber candidate of the PDP in the 2015 election, Jimi Agbaje, not to step down for him over the national chairmanship contest of the party.

According to the influential politician who supported Agbaje during the governorship election, he expected that Agbaje would do the same for him on his ambition to become the next chairman of the PDP, adding that the support he gave to Agbaje during the governorship election was one of the causes of the crisis in the Lagos State chapter of the PDP.

“I am very disappointed but not angry. Vengeance is not mine, it is God’s. I want to quote the book of Ecclesiastics, which says that there is a season for everything. Whatever you sow in your lifetime, you will reap.

“Our Lord Jesus Christ said that one of his disciples would betray him. The disciples started looking round. Judas Iscariot, the traitor, has been around from time immemorial. It’s a shame. That is his (Agbaje’s) choice. I just pray that God would continue to direct this country. God has told us that it is only Him we can trust, not human beings.

“Agbaje knows what is right. My advice is that he should step down. He should obey his elders.  As a Christian, we should have the fear of God. If he insists on contesting, I cannot stop him. Let the decision be made by the delegates at the convention,” he said.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Felix Oboagwina, while reacting in an interview with a Punch's correspondent on Saturday, Agbaje disclosed that he had great respect for George, saying that he was not a betrayer as being claimed, adding that he decided to contest the election in the national interest.

“For Jimi Agbaje, the national chairmanship position was never his ambition. He never aspired to it. The stakeholders decided that they needed someone who would not have to deal with a reputation crisis and they chose Agbaje.

“Agbaje never betrayed Chief Bode George. He is not a betrayer. He has all the respect for George but this is beyond true allies; this is beyond Lagos State. He is contesting in the national interest. The party has created a level playing field. Let the best man win.”

Mikel On the Score sheets as Nigeria Set Up Olympic Semi-final Showdown with Germany (Watch Video)

Chelsea Midfielder John Obi Mikel scored one goal and gave an assist for the other as Nigeria defeated Denmark thereby qualifying for the semifinal of the Rio 2016 Olympics football event.

Dream Team VI, Nigeria’s Under-23 team, have qualified for the semi-final of the male football event of the Rio Olympics after defeating Denmark 2-0 at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, Brazil.
Nigeria went into the match without team top scorer Oghenekaro Etebo, who suffered a hamstring injury in the dead rubber loss to Colombia, and was consequently replaced by Umar Aminu.
Captain Mikel Obi opened scoring with a quarter of an hour gone, slicing home the ball by Jeppe Höjbjerg’s near post after good work on the left flank by striker Imoh Ezekiel, whose mazy runs had been a problem for the Danes all evening.
Ezekiel would then waste a glorious chance four minutes later. To his credit, he picked up the ball around the centre of the opposition half, and dashed on one of his trademark runs, dribbling past a wall of defenders to carve out an opening for himself, with Höjbjerg alone left to beat. However, he undid all the good work by driving the ball over the bar.
Denmark took the game by the scruff of the neck from then on, and the Dream Team hardly fashioned out a clear-cut chance for the rest of the first half, which in fact ended with the Dane holding 55 percent ball possession.

Nigeria had goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel to thank for retaining the lead, first in the 25th minute, when he looked to have been beaten by Frederik Borsting’s looping header only to tip it out for a corner kick, and minutes later, denying Borsting again in a one-on-one situation.
Denmark made a last-ditch effort to level the scores, Edigerson Gomes testing Daniel with a decent strike from the edge of the 18-yard box, but the Enugu rangers man was equal to the test.
Nigeria came out of the dressing the room the stronger side, pressing the Danes back in their half just like they started the first, but what would have been the first chance was Mikel’s blocked attempt at goal.
Stanley Amuzie was next, trying a long-range strike that was snuffed out by Höjbjerg’s sharp reflexes. That was a sign of what was to come, though, as Nigeria went ahead in the 58th minute when Aminu nodded home a Mikel corner.
Both sides would thereafter miss chances to score goals, but it was Nigeria who triumphed with the two-goal advantage
The result means the Dream Team will now play Germany on Wednesday in the second semi-final at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, but the will be without Okechukwu Azubuike, who picked up his second yellow card of the tournament.
The Germans walloped Portugal 4-0 in the first quarter-final match of the round.
